Choosing a size
Letter size matters more than most people expect. A child whose letters spill over the lines is usually working on paper that is too small for their current control, not being careless. Match the preset to the child rather than to the age on the label, and drop a size larger if the writing is cramped.
Every preset here follows the same rule that published handwriting paper uses: the space above the midline, the letter body, and the space below the baseline are all equal. That is why the guides on these sheets line up with the letters exactly, at any size.
Printing at the right scale
Choose 100% or Actual size in your print dialog rather than Fit to page. Fitting to page shrinks the sheet by a few percent, which is invisible on screen and makes every letter the wrong height on paper.
